Abstract

The development of information technology provides opportunities to improve the effectiveness of financial management and reporting. The Building Science Center still uses Microsoft Excel for recording financial reports, so data on receipts, expenditures, and cash balances are not yet optimally integrated, and user access management is not based on authority. This study aims to develop a client-server-based Financial Reporting Information System to support the management of transactions and the presentation of financial reports in an integrated manner. The research uses a descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, document studies, and literature studies. The system development applies the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model, which consists of system engineering, analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance stages. The results of the study take the form of an information system that provides master data management, transaction receipts, expenditure transactions, journal transactions, as well as the presentation of receipt reports, expenditure reports, journal reports, and account balances. The system developed provides more structured and integrated financial data management compared to the previous recording process using Microsoft Excel. In this way, the client-server-based information system can support the preparation of financial reports at the Building Science Center according to the needs of financial data and information management.
